Privacy Policy
How Yuvaa Media collects, uses and protects your personal data, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
1. Who we are
Yuvaa Media (“we”, “us”) operates this website. For the purposes of Indian data protection law we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described below. You can reach us at yuvaamedia.info@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Readers: You can read Yuvaa Media without creating an account. We use our own (first-party) cookie with a random ID to count visits and recognise returning readers. With it we record the pages you open, the number and time of your visits, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (city, region and country, as provided by our hosting network). We do not store your IP address with this record, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- Email sign-up: if you share your email in the pop-up (typed, or through “Continue with Google”), we store your email address, your name if Google provides it, the date you joined, your approximate location, and link it to your visit record (number and time of visits, pages read). When you use Google, Google shares only your name and verified email with us, under Google’s own privacy terms.
- Contact and Careers forms: name, email, optional phone number, your message and any link you share.
- Article submissions: name, email, contact number, optional designation, organisation and LinkedIn profile, your article and photo, your answers to the disclosure questions, and a record of the declarations you accepted with the date and IP address.
- Team accounts: for editors and staff, a user ID, name, securely hashed password and security settings.
3. Why we use it
- to reply to your message or application;
- to review, edit and publish articles you submit, and to contact you about them;
- to credit contributors (see section 4);
- to understand our readership (how many people visit, how often, which articles they read and from which cities) and to improve the website;
- if you joined our email list, to send you occasional updates and stories from Yuvaa Media. You can ask us to stop at any time;
- to keep the website secure, prevent spam and misuse, and meet legal obligations.
We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, and for legitimate uses permitted by law. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. What we publish
If we publish your article, we show your name and, if you provided them, your designation, organisation and a link to your LinkedIn profile. We never publish your email address or contact number.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that host and run the website (for example, our hosting and database providers), under appropriate safeguards and only as needed to provide the service. Some providers may store data on servers outside India. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government authority.
6. How long we keep it
- Messages: up to 12 months, unless needed longer for an ongoing matter.
- Email sign-ups: until you ask us to remove you. Anonymous visit records: up to 24 months.
- Article submissions that are not published: up to 12 months after our decision.
- Published articles: author credits stay with the article while it is published. The records of your declarations are kept for as long as the article is published and for a reasonable period after, to protect both you and us.
- Security logs: as long as needed for security and as required by law.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted staff access with two-factor login, hashed passwords and access logs. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach occurs we will act promptly and notify affected people and authorities as required by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask us to: tell you what personal data we hold about you; correct, complete or update it; erase it (for example, withdraw a submission or remove your credit from an article); and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out. You may also nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. To make a request, email yuvaamedia.info@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by law.
9. Children
Our forms are intended for people aged 18 or above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies: one with a random ID to count visits and recognise returning readers (kept for up to 12 months), and a strictly necessary security cookie when a team member signs in. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work.
11. Grievances
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer, Yuvaa Media at yuvaamedia.info@gmail.com. See Grievance Redressal. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once its complaint process is available to you.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last changed.
